When using this type of ear plug, you ensure it is not played too loudly, or the music will damage your ears more than the sound you are blocking would have. The Noise-cancelling plugs are the best variety, as it cancels out most of the outside noises. This means that the music that you are playing will be at a much lower, and therefore safer, volume.
As well as ear plugs, there are a lot of things that you can get to help reduce this problem. This includes ideas from exercise and meditation plans, to vitamins and health supplements that are supposed to cure the problem. I have not tried many of these things as speaking to my doctor, and it turns out that for me personally, the ringing comes from damage to my ears.
It would not matter how much vitamin B-1 through 6 I take; it will not repair that damage. However, not everyone is the same, so it may work in your case.
As I have tried none of these, I am in no position to recommend them. So if these are the things that you believe may help you, then you need to get this information from someone who has tried them.

The final recommendation I will make here has always worked best for me, and also for other people I know. That is to have another type of noise mask out the ringing that I always have.
