Do:

  2. Help to clean up hostel after every meal / other time

  3. If a group of people are sitting on the floor, you should drop what you are doing and sit with them for a while.

  4. Play board games, go for walks, ... with other travellers! You’ll probably meet some really cool people that way! :)

  5. Take a bus or train together with other travellers to get to places further away (and cheaper!)

  6. If you want to order something, don’t get upset if the staff does not understand your English. Just use English and show them the menu.

  7. Always lock the door when leaving hostel (especially if you are alone)

  8. Turn off the lights before you leave hostel

  9. Don’t mess around with people’s stuff! It’s awesome when they share, but always respect other people’s privacy!

  10. Since it is impossible to control all mosquitos, ... I recommend insect repellent though!

Don’t

  1. Don’t be overly loud in the common areas.

  2. Don’t play audio games where you can hear others

  3. Don’t eat & drink in the common areas

  4. Don’t do your hostel washing in the common areas because it’s a gross mess!

  5. Don’t run up & down stairs all day long unless there are people who will help you if you fall or something!

  6. Cleaning bathrooms is a disgusting job, so don’t do it! It’s much better to have someone else clean it up! :)
